Kidney function (eGFR) is calculated based on Creatinine obtained from a blood test. This is used as a method of monitoring the stability of your kidney disease. Certain kidney diseases can cause haematuria (blood in the urine) and proteinuria (protein in the urine). Regular urine test may be requested by your Nephrologist to monitor these aspects of your kidney health. This section introduces some of these concepts.
